Quickstore Plymouth customer K9 Magic Meals grows their business with increased self storage

k9-magic-mealsQuickstore Plymouth customers Michelle and Adrian are the owners of K9 Magic Meals. After a very successful year in 2016 they’ve had to invest in a new, larger van and they’ve also increased the size of their storage unit with us.

The company supplies Simpsons Premium Dog Food and they’ve been going from strength to strength taking online orders and delivering 7 days a week too. Michelle recently said: “My business wouldn’t run nearly as smoothly if it wasn’t for Quickstore Plymouth. I don’t know how I’d manage without them.”

Quickstore Plymouth would like to wish K9 Magic Meals a successful 2017 and thank them for their continued custom.

You can find K9 Magic Meals on Twitter and on Facebook or learn more about them from their website.

Help the homeless this month with Socktober

socktoberIn an international effort to equip the homeless population with clean, dry socks this winter, we’re asking our customers and partners for help. A simple pair of warm men’s socks can make all the difference to somebody sleeping rough this winter.

We’re asking our friends, family, customers and associates to donate clean, new socks to their local Quickstore centre in a bid to get involved with something really positive. Make someone’s life that little bit warmer.

PATH Torbay, a collective of volunteers who fundraise, collect and distribute clothing, food and essentials to the homeless, will be distributing the socks collected this Socktober. If you can get involved by donating, spreading the word or even offering your time to PATH Torbay, we can make a difference this winter.

Find #Socktober on Facebook or call 07763398238 for more information. You can also find some more information by contacting one of our centres.

BBC Breakfast: the Annual Self Storage Industry Survey and what it means for the future

bbc breakfastOn Monday 13th June Rennie Schafer, the CEO of SSA UK (Self Storage Association UK) and Steph McGovern, BBC News Business presenter spoke live to BBC News about the Annual Industry Survey 2016. The survey combines data from the industry with expert knowledge to give a comprehensive oversight of the direction of the industry and any emerging patterns.

Crossing live from a self storage business Steph was asking Rennie Schafer about the industry and what we could learn from the new SSA Annual Survey. Steph also had the chance to open up some storage units from customers, questioning them about why they used self storage.

Leading on from the interest in this BBC Radio Devon contacted our Quickstore Torquay manager, Martin Bignell, the same afternoon to talk about the implications of the SSA UK survey and what can be gleaned from it.

Local author Chris Thrall talks to Quickstore about his new thriller series and storing with us

chris thrallLocal author Chris Thrall has been storing here at Quickstore for eighteen months.

Chris says: “I sold my house and moved in with my partner. I store most of my possessions with Jon and his team, who are extremely friendly, professional and polite. This means I can use our spare room as an office.’

Following on from his bestselling memoir Eating Smoke, the story of how he came to be working for the Hong Kong triads, Chris recently ventured into fiction with the opening of two books in his Hans Larsson thriller series. The first book The Drift begins in Plymouth and will be familiar to locals! The Drift is available from Amazon at £7.99 and all good bookshops, the synopsis follows.

Following the death of his wife and son, Hans Larsson buys a yacht named Future, intending to sail across the Atlantic with his young daughter Jessica. En route they meet Penny, a seasoned English skipper, who joins them as crew, and the larger-than-life Marcel, a Dutch art dealer hiding a secret, along with a stash of drugs on his vintage boat. Battling storms, sharks and pirates, Hans and Jessica experience the adventure of a lifetime, until fate intervenes to leave them fighting for survival on an ocean less perilous than the mind . . .
