Calais Refugee Solidarity give thanks to QuickStore

calais-refugee-donationsThe refugee crisis across Europe has thousands of people vying for the government to support and accept as many refugees as is possible. Action group Calais Refugee Solidarity have been working tirelessly to organise aid for the refugee camp in Calais which has included collecting clothing items that can be distributed in the camp.

Calais Refugee Solidarity collected a vast amount of donations to the cause and were storing them all in a spare bedroom in Torbay! We stepped in to help and provided a free storage unit where the group could hold their donations before they took the trip to the camp.

On Saturday 10th October kind volunteers brought along their cars and helped the team move their donations from the spare bedroom to one of our QuickStore units and the job was finished in no time!

We’re so glad that we could help with this worthy cause and we look forward to hearing all about the trip! You can read more about the donations here, or you can find out how to help!

QuickStore Exeter office refurbishment offers new meeting room

You may remember that we posted a story last month all about the folk over at QuickStore Exeter and their new office refurbishment. The brand new facilities has allowed the branch to upgrade their out-dated interior, open up the floor space and give them more desk space.

With the refit now complete our great office team have moved back into a normal routine, pleased as punch with their new kitchen and bathroom facilities!

Not only do our team members have something to smile about but our customers do too. We added, with all the extra space, a brand new meeting room that’s free for all of our customers to use. The meeting room will be fully equipped with everything you could need!

We hope you’ll pop down to check out the improvements and enjoy using the new facilities soon.

Exeter Reception Refurbishment

QuickStore Exeter to modernise with open-plan office refurbishment

QuickStore Exeter is undergoing an office refurbishment! Our office is currently a little too small for the needs of the Exeter branch and is also out of date so the refurbishment comes as a way to increase floor space, improve the layout of the office, and to modernise the space.

The old kitchen is going to be replaced with a new, modern facility and both the ladies and gents toilets will be replaced with one unisex disabled toilet. The new kitchen is going to bring more office space so that Budget Vehicle Hire, who currently have their own desks at the end of the warehouse, can utilise the extra space to move in.

We’re looking forward to having a much larger, modern office with a brand new meeting room that’ll also be available for customers wishing to hire it.

The refurbishments aren’t stopping our team from working hard though as we were able to construct a temporary dividing wall between us and the changes being made. We’re extremely excited to take full advantages of our new offices and we hope you’ll like them the next time you visit us.

Shelving Construction Project in Exeter

We have almost completed a large construction project at our Exeter branch where we are installing a shelving system for file storage.

When finished this new shelving system will cover a huge 4,000 square feet of floorspace (approximately). The files will be tracked with our existing Document Tracking System which utilises barcodes.

The first phase of the shelving construction has a capacity for 20,000 boxes and our first customers are moving in any time now. This system is perfect for file storage where a fixed price per box can be achieved with additional services such as courier, scanning and confidential destruction.

For more information and prices on our document storage and complementing services click here or call your local Quickstore branch.

Pledge to help a mum from Exeter

BAt Quickstore we are always eager to help and promote a good cause and when we saw the news story about Jo Smith, a 36 year old mum from Exeter is suffering with two (yes two!) terminal illnesses, we wanted to bring the campaign to your attention.

Jo’s best friend Sarah is doing all she can to help her get the treatment that she needs. Sadly Jo is unable to have treatment for lymphatic cancer due to suffering from a rare heart & lung disease called pulmonary hypertension. Her heart & lungs are too weak to cope with chemo plus she is not able to go onto the transplant list because she needs to be 5 years free of cancer. Although Jo is the only person known to have these two diseases there is hope in the form of a specialist Dr in Thailand. He believes that he can cure Jo with immunotherapy and so they are aiming is to raise £30,000 in just 30 days that will help pay for her treatment and travel.

To find out more information and to make a pledge yourself please visit the Just Giving Breathe for Jo Campaign page here.

Supporting Charities in Plymouth and Exeter

At Quickstore we are pleased to be able to help charities wherever we possibly can and these past few months have been great examples of that.

Our centre in Exeter was pleased to be able to support Cancer Research recently. They were in need of storage for 6 weeks whilst their shop premises in Exmouth were being refitted so we offered them free self storage in Exeter.

The Plymouth self storage branch are pleased to support local charity, Plymouth & District Deaf Children’s Society by offering them free storage and have received a lovely thank you on the PDCS website.

We often help local charities where possible by offering free storage facilities where there’s a genuine need. The team are very approachable and happy to help!
