QS Network News – Rame Marketing discusses the power of video marketing

rame-digital-marketingTorbay Business Network attendee and contributor, Andrew Walker of Rame Marketing, has noted down his thoughts on the power of video marketing. He experimented himself with a project that’s been 3-years on the ‘to-do’ list and finally put out his very own video, showing web visitors what he can do to help solve their marketing problems. Andrew said:
“It helps a business to get found online, it improves the engagement between prospects and that business, people are happy to view, share and like them and research shows they can increase conversion rates. Yes I’m talking about video, one of the most under utilised channels in the marketing toolbox.
I’ve added video to my site to verbally explain to my web visitors what I can do to help solve their problems. It has the added advantage of letting people see who I am and what I look like and introducing the human touch to business.
At the same time I’ve really focused in on my niche, ruthlessly cutting content and services to rapidly get to the point of what I offer and introducing a number of service based packages suitable for businesses of all shapes and sizes.”
He also said he experimented with a boosted Facebook post to see what would happen to a teaser video once it got more traction. He spent just £14 promoting the post to a highly targeted audience and it culminated in 2800 views, gaining lots of likes, shares and comments on the way.
Andrew also shared his advice with us on utilising video marketing. He commented: “My advice is to get started as fast as you can, it doesn’t have to be expensive as all new smartphones now have an integrated HD video camera.”
You can view Andrew’s marketing video and contact him to learn more about the possibility of promoting your business through a video by calling him on 01803 413481.

QS Network News – 107 mile coast to coast cycle aims to raise critical funds for St Luke’s Hospice

stlukes-chopperCycling the 107 mile ‘coast to coast’ route from Ilfracombe to Plymouth is a feat that has been left mostly to lycra-clad professionals, the route is seriously challenging! So imagine our surprise when Lisa Thomas of Neville & Co. told us that a Vicar and a janner are planning to cycle the trail!

Father Richard Silk from St Barts and Phil Reed, husband of Lisa Thomas, will be grabbing their iconic 70s Raleigh Choppers and pedalling for 4 days! The great expedition is of course in aid of St Luke’s Hospice Plymouth, a place in which many families rely on for valuable help during trying times.

The daring duo are hoping that people will rally around them with support for the hospice. Father Richard said: “Two forty something blokes messing around on their choppers may sound fun, but it’s not that easy! These choppers are small for us and so will be quite a challenge. The big challenge is to raise funds for St Luke’s and I hope everyone will support us.”

You can find more information on donating or sponsoring the ‘fellows’ by visiting their Facebook page.

On March 30th the two crazy cyclists will begin their journey across the windswept coast with the aim of arriving to the Barbican on April 2nd at 1pm! If you know someone who wants to cycle the last leg between Tavistock and Plymouth, or if you’d like to be waiting at the finish line, don’t hesitate to contact Phil’s wife, Lisa Thomas at Neville & Co on 01752 786800.

QS Network News – David Collins Consultancy talks business plans and the Torbay Business Network

david-collins-consultancy-business-planningDavid Collins of David Collins Consultancy says he has one note on his desk. The note simply says ‘Why?’ in order to prompt him into realising why he’s taking action. ‘Why am I taking action around attending this networking event?’, ‘Why am I calling on trading estates?’, and ‘Why am I updating my LinkedIn?’.

David Collins said: “To help me prioritise actions for Quarter 4 2015, I looked back at the first year and assessed the network events I attended.

The Torbay Business Network on the last Friday of each month at Pier Point came in at number one priority because of the consistent numbers attending, the quality of presentations and Anthony Blackaby’s facilitation, cost and location.”
David extends an invitation to us all to have a look what we are prioritising for this quarter, why we are prioritising it, and how it will help us create a great starting point for 2016. He also says: “If you are not clear about what’s most important to you, and where you are going with it, how can you take action with confidence?”
David has over 35 years of experience working with business owners on planning, finance, and coaching, helping different businesses achieve their different ambitions.
Contact David Collins Consultancy if you want to chat about clarity and purpose in business. Contact QuickStore Torquay if you’d like to attend the next Torbay Business Network on Friday 25th September or find the next business meeting dates.

QS Network News – Efficient Comms aids SDABS in moving their communications systems

SDABS logoEfficient Comms Ltd specialise in business communications and recently helped South Devon Accounting & Business Services Ltd. (SDABS) dodge obstacles that hindered their move into new office premises at the QuickStore Business Centre in Torquay.

SDABS found themselves a little tied up when they tried to move, as they couldn’t continue using their advertised phone number because it belonged to their existing serviced offices. SDABS took the next logical step and contacted several telecoms suppliers who gave them hefty quotes for new fixed lines and equipment, making the move less viable financially.

Via the power of networking groups, Efficient Comms were asked to look at the options available and came up with a solution to allow flexibility in numbering using SIP trunks, VoIP, with an IP based telephone system. Using a single Superfast broadband connection Efficient Comms were able to deploy SIP trunks, and also port some existing numbers. A new cat 5 data network was installed covering all their voice and data needs and an LG Ericsson IP Unified Communications platform deployed.

Efficient CommsSouth Devon Accountancy and Business Services Ltd. were then able to move offices with no delay in their communications and now have a high-speed data network with access to a host of software. The costs of these systems were spread over a 5-year leasing package, making the move even more affordable.

Ros Davis from SDABS said: “On researching a number of companies, we approached Efficient Comms as we felt they were competitively priced and we liked their personal approach. The transfer of our phone system, despite being on a tight time schedule, went very smoothly and the very few initial queries or glitches were resolved quickly and efficiently.”

If you’re interested in updating your communications infrastructure then call Kevin on 01803 611 611 or email him. Alternatively visit the Efficient Comms website for more information.
