QS Network News – Francis Clark Consultancy Colour Rush Press Release

Colour RushIn support of the Colour Rush event where runners are showered with neon powder paint as they make their way around a 5K course on Paignton seafront, Francis Clark is sponsoring a paint station and will be looking forward to colouring 10 of their own staff, who are entering the event.

The Colour Rush supports South Devon’s Rowcroft Hospice and last year raised over £76,000 for the charity which provides specialist care to patients with progressive, life limiting illnesses. This year organisers have set the bar even higher with a target of £85,000.

James Twigger, Business Services Manager at Francis Clark, said: “The firm has a long established relationship with Rowcroft and we are very proud of the association. We particularly like this event because it is bright and vibrant and mirrors Rowcroft’s hugely positive philosophy.”

The Colour Rush takes place on Saturday 12 September at 1pm. Entry is £20 per person and this covers the cost of staging the event including the two tons of paint that will be used. Every penny raised after this goes directly to Rowcroft Hospice. Click to find further information and an online entry form.

Saltash sponsoring Circus Starr’s latest tour

Quickstore Saltash are extremely happy to be sponsoring Circus Starr, the circus with a purpose, on its latest UK tour. Circus Starr run three UK tours a year and it’s all part of their journey to help vulnerable children to forget about their troubles for a day.circus-starr-logo-quickstore

The circus was first founded in 1987 and is a not-for-profit organisation aiming to support children’s charities in the UK. The Circus operates a ‘donated ticket programme’ so that thousands of disadvantaged children can experience the joy of their world-class, professional circus acts thanks to the generosity of others. Every year thanks to this kindness, mainly from local businesses, they’re able to give over £1.3 million worth of free tickets to children, their families and the community groups that support them. Circus Starr currently work with over 70 charities up and down the UK and have donated over £900,000 in the past 12 years.

We have been in contact with Circus Starr regularly and have arranged a sponsorship package with them. We’re so proud to be sponsoring this event as they’re sponsoring the same charity that we support often – Children’s Hospice South West. Centre Manager Julie Mazzoni said: “They have given children with disabilities the chance to run away to the circus and forget their troubles for a day – this is exactly what the hospice is all about so I had no hesitation at all in sponsoring the show.”

Get in touch with Circus Starr to see how you can help or contact Quickstore Saltash for more information on this event and the charity being sponsored, Children’s Hospice South West.

QS Network News – David Collins Consultancy Case Study

david-collins-business-and-banking-consultant-torquay-devon-logoBusiness Finance is incredibly important no matter what your size, services or products. This recent successful case study of a South Devon business raising finance highlighted the importance of an independent second pair of eyes. Getting the right time, right place and the right amount is critical.

Right Time

An established used car trader took the time to stand back from the business for an hour to create a clear 10 year plan to be debt free and achieve a great work / life balance. This highlighted the benefit of immediately re-scheduling the existing finance arrangements.

Right Place

Unsecured finance for a car dealer was needed and therefore it was essential that the right finance provider was approached with experience in this. Around 70% of businesses only approach one finance provider, whether successful or not.

Right Amount

A thorough and professional proposal was prepared, with contingency ‘what ifs’; to show clearly how this finance would benefit the business long term by reducing the interest cost overheads. Attention to the detail makes the lender’s decision easy.

An unsecured loan of £50,000 at 10.2% reduced the interest costs for finance for this business by more than £5,000, and the owner could take the action with the confidence it was a clear step in the right direction towards the long-term goals.

Most businesses don’t arrange finance on a regular basis – use an independent pair of eyes to provide that added confidence in your business decisions.

If you need help arranging finance, knowing where to go or who to ask visit David Collins Consultancy or send us an email.

5K Race for Life challenge set for Quickstore Plymouth ladies

Quickstore Plymouth Race for LifeThe lovely ladies here at Quickstore Plymouth will be running the 5K Race for Life again this year! On the June 21st we will run in aid of Cancer Research for the 4th time.

Since 1995 more than 7 million women have walked, raced and danced their way to the Race for Life finish line and we’re thrilled to be among them.

Although the 5K isn’t a marathon, it certainly isn’t a sprint so any support would be greatly appreciated as ‘running motivation’.

The Race is in aid of Cancer Research UK which is a cause very dear to hearts, especially since so many people these days are helped by the charity. Thanks to Cancer Research UK’s work, 450 people survive cancer every day and we’d love this figure to continue to rise.

We’ll be taking our places on the starting line come rain or shine so we’d love your sponsorship to help us raise money for a very worthy cause. Thank you for your support and we hope to see as many of you as possible there! :)

Introducing the QS Network

The QS Network is an initiative created by the Quickstore teams across Devon and Cornwall as well as our partners.
