Be quick – make a child’s Christmas

We’ve teamed up with Operation Christmas Child for the third year running and are urging people across the region to donate as many Christmas shoe boxes as possible by 18 November!

Last year 1.12 million boxes were sent around the world to children who would otherwise have nothing to open on Christmas morning. With your help they aim to send even more boxes this year to 14 countries around the world.
All you need is a shoe box, some Christmas wrapping paper and some toys and you are ready to drop your box off at any of our drop-off points in Plymouth, Exeter, Torquay and Saltash. To see what can be included within the box visit: www.operationchristmaschild.org.uk/what-to-pack. Also, don’t forget to include a photo of yourself that will go towards the donator mosaic.

“In the past we have collected hundreds of shoe boxes for OCC. All our staff take time to put together toys and presents that they would like to give a child less fortunate than their own. We’d really like to swell the numbers this year so why not clear out some unused things and take the chance to really make a child’s Christmas this year?” Urged Andy Patrick, Managing Director at Quickstore.

All shoe boxes need to be collected and exported in time for the big day and this means that the final day this year is the 18th of November. So if you haven’t dropped your box off yet, make sure you visit one of our drop-off points to make sure they get there in time for the big day.

It’s November so here it’s MOVEMBER!

That’s right we’re all growing moustaches to raise money for men’s health. It seemed like a good thing to do at the time and much less effort than jumping out of a plane or running a marathon. The reality however is quite different. Trying to establish what a moustache really is has resulted in several heated debates. Apparently a moustache should not meet under the chin and not join up to any sideburns. So here we are all scratching and itching every day but it’s all for a good cause and if you can help us raise money we’ve made that fun as well. Simply download our Movember sheet (there’s one for each centre so pick which one you want), pay £1.00 and draw on the moustaches you think we will end up with in the final day of November. Doesn’t matter how silly they are we really won’t be offended! Please help us so we can raise as much as we can! Here’s an example of the one featuring all the guys from Plymouth:
